Message From The Writer...

A hearty warm welcome to you my dear reader. It has been a while since I last posted my first successful interview piece on this blog, which amassed more than 100 views and was featured by ItsGoa on their website before it went on to be linked to other websites. This blogpost is nothing short of a look back on some of my key milestones and accomplishments in the field of writing that are worth recounting from the last six months as well as my goals and aspirations for the new year 2023! It covers my achievements and accomplishments from both my blogs - The Perceptionist and Bryce's Corner. I hope you enjoy this read of Bryce's Corner.

Beginning with the end of last year - 2021. Another year, passed us unnoticed, as we were looking to find an appropriate solution to the never-ending pandemic. It was around this time by the last few months of November and December 2021, that an idea struck my mind of writing an article about the education system for The Perceptionist. This was a subject that I had for long wanted to share my opinion on, given how much the system had destroyed my self-worth as an individual, my sense of identity, my desire of questioning to 'know the truth' and not just 'follow the book' in the process of seeking knowledge and educating myself. I was happy when the same article took half the page of the Herald Goa newspaper - a record that was previously broken by another article of mine - The Limits of Being a Human. Those of us who have been through the system know how it operates, and how often it 'unconsciously' echoes the sentiments of the upper-class strata of society without recognizing the fact that every human being is different, and that it is the experiences that shape us in the whole process of our lives. This is something I wanted to touch upon in one of my writeups, and I was happy when this got published statewide in the local daily of Goa.

The next big achievements to look back on, were the writeups I had written for ItsGoa, one of which was an interview piece with Schubert D'silva as described earlier, where I got him to share with me his experiences as a Goan living in the U.A.E, as well as his brief stint with being a President of the St. Michael's Sharjah Goan Committee in the years preceding the current year. The next writeup for ItsGoa, was a short blog post on the Top 5 Benefits of Digital magazines over Print Magazines after which I had to take a long break given that during this time, I had started working and have been doing my part-time MBA on the side. I did however write a short press release for ItsGoa and The Goan promoting the World Goa Day celebrations of St. Michael's Sharjah Goan Committee that took place virtually via Zoom somewhere in the month of October 2022.

At my workplace, one of the projects that I am proud to have worked on was a blog post on the recently published EY Integrity Report. This was the first time that I had written a blog post for a company, something that I will always remember for life in one of my first jobs at the initial phase of my career.

Finally, I ended the year with yet another blog post on 'The Perceptionist' - Uncertainty - The New Certainty?  This was another topic that I had wanted to address and more importantly urge the readers to reflect on the last six months, given that a new way of living seems to have emerged out of the whole lot of events that have had a drastic impact on the world economy. Whether this uncertainty is here to stay for long or it will disappear in due course is a question that I leave up to you all my readers and more importantly, the policymakers and economists.

That said, I look forward to a bright and prosperous new year 2023. May the blessings of the Almighty lead us on the right path, help us make the right choices, and accomplish the goals and desires we have in mind so that we may lead with confidence and agility in the next couple of months of the uncertain year predicted.
